I Augusti 2024 genomför Innovationsbolaget och RISE Processum en fyradagars workshop under ledning av den kreativa forskaren och entreprenören Gary Cass. Syftet med workshopen kommer att vara att introducera konstnärer till bioteknologins värld med sikte på att skapa nya konstnärliga verk och att väcka både nyfikenhet och kritisk medvetenhet om bioteknik.
Konstnärer och kreatörer bjuds in att medverka. Ett urval kommer att göras bland de som ansöker om att få delta, för att skapa en grupp med bred representation.

Workshopsserien är har ingen deltagaravgift men deltagare står för sina egna kostnader gällande kost och logi i samband med arrangemanget. Workshopen arrangeras med medfinansiering från Europeiska regionalfonden och Region Västernorrland.
Gary Cass är bland annat känd för sin kreativa idé att använda en biologisk bakteriell process för att skapa en klänning av vin. Processen har bidragit till viktiga dialoger om modeindustrins hållbarhet och framtidens material och textil. Se Gary Cass TEDx-talk här:

In August 2024, Innovationsbolaget and RISE Processum will host a four-day workshop led by the creative scientist and entrepreneur Gary Cass.
The purpose of the workshop will be to introduce artists to the world of biotechnology with the aim of creating new artistic works that will engage the world in a dialogue and critical awareness of this new life sciences and biological technology.
When: August 13-16th 2024
Where: Örnsköldsvik (At Innovationsbolaget and RISE Processum)
Artists and creators are invited to participate. A selection will be made from those who apply to participate, to create a group of participants with broad representation.

The workshop series has no participation fee but participants are expected to cover their own costs for food and accommodation during the event. The workshop is being arranged with co-funding from the European Regional Development Fund and Region Västernorrland.
Gary Cass is known, among other things, for his creative idea of using a biological bacterial process to create a dress from wine. The process has contributed to important dialogues about the sustainability of the fashion industry and the materials and textiles of the future.
